Lens Correction profile in Photoshop for ED80

Recommended Posts

I've recently bought myself a Skywatcher ED80 APO Pro and I can't wait to test it!

Well tonight seems to be a good night for it *crosses fingers*

Since I've got no field flattener, I've searched on the interwebs and found out the same can be achieved using Photoshop Lens Correction filter.

It works with exif data and selects the correct profile for the picture, but as I will attach it to my scope this will never be correct.

Does anyone have a lens correction profile for this OTA? Would help me a bunch!

I'm not convinced this filter will work to correct scope curvature but I'd like to be proved wrong. When I've tried it I've been able to correct coma but only by creating utterly enormous distortions in the stellar positions.

Do you have a link to the sites where they say it can be done?

I read it on a forum somewhere, some guy said he didn't buy a flattener because he gets around with the lens correction feature in Photoshop, since then I got this idea in my head.

Anyway, sadly I can't remember which forum..
