Photobucket issue with image size?

Photobucket has just upgraded to new software and seems to have now put a much tighter limit on allowable image sizes - you can still upload to 2048x1536 but it will only allow me to insert an image of 1024x768 maximum as a web link. Maybe I'm missing something - but I have been using Photobucket for my images for a while now and have not come across this before. By the way I use the free service - maybe that is part of the reason!! They do not have a facility to ask questions - just a FAQ section.

It's not a major problem as Flickr still allows you to post "full size" on the forum - its just that Flickr is a bit clunky to use.

Has anybody found the same problem or a less clunky solution?
