How can I get the best out of my Heritaige 130p?

Putting aside the leg work of filling those little grey cells between my ears, what do I need or should I do to get the best out of my telescope?

Hopefully any suggestions, that involve buying stuff, won't cost more than the telescope itself.

a collimator will help if you dont have one already by improving better focus.

I find that if I wrap a camping mat around the tube and open section it helps prevent condensation on the primary and blocks ambient light which helps with the contrast. Think my mat cost me about £3.

I just made a couple of slits to go around the tube mount, RDF and the eyepiece holder. Makes a difference, not huge but it does help.
