Open truss question Skywatcher 130P

When my Sky Watcher 130p arrives and I use it for the first time, do I need to worry that only half the telescope is covered while the extended bit is naked to the air around it?

I, like many people live in an urban environment, so will this extended and bare part of the telescope cause any problems?

You may want to add a light shroud. This can be made out of basically any light-proof material. An example:

Your only problem would be getting dew on the primary or secondary mirror, so a shroud would be a good idea. You might make some enquiries here, they are friends of mine: http://www.clairesuniverse.co.uk/
