TELE VUE PRONTO

Hi. I have a chance of getting a secondhand pronto for £400. What do you think is it a good telescope or could i get something better for the same price. I want something portable. Thanks

They are very nice portable refractors but the 70mm aperture will limit what you can see with it of course. There is a used one on e.bay at the moment for just under £300 I believe.

As a holiday / travelscope I reckon it would be a lot of fun - I'm not sure I would want it as my only scope though.

You could get something bigger and more powerful for the same price, but the Pronto will hold its value better than most of the alternatives. I have the apo version of the Pronto and they're much better made and tougher than most other small refractors. I've certainly never regretted buying it. - Hugh.
