Pleiades and Aldebaran

HI all, thought I would share my first attempts at some deeper sky objects, being a planetry man with a SW150PL and a compact camera I thought I would not be able to capture any deepsky objects, well now I have had some limited sucess I am going to keep going see where I can push this little compact of mine.

Both images iso 3200 1 second exposure camera mounted on top of my trusty 150PL I was not using the EQ drive at the time as the exposure was short.

Those are smashing images. Really nicely framed. The colour of Aldebaran is magnificient and quite something for short exposures with your compact.

Nicely done with a compact camera.

The Aldebaran shot can be stretched in Photoshop to reveal more of the Hyades cluster and colour too.
