Astronomy in Caldicot Castle, Gwent, Thursday 22nd Nov

Usk Astronomical Society is hosting an astronomy session for the general public in Caldicot Castle, near Newport, Gwent on Thursday 22nd November 2012, all welcome. Normal admission charges for the castle apply. If the sky is clear there will a number of quality telescopes and some expert advice to explain what to look for and demonstrate the instruments. Even if the weather is not good there will be a Planetarium showing the night sky, an introductin to the solar system and myths and legends. There will also be static displays of instruments, members work, a collection of meteorites that can be examined and handled and many more things to look at. The evening is very suitable for families. Some light refreshments will be available to purchase. The evening begins at 7 pm and usually finished about 10 pm. There is no need to book, just show up on the night.
