Problems with adjusting gain in SharpCap

Recommended Posts

I tried observing Jupiter again tonight and I still have problems with over exposure. I tried everything I could to lower the exposure but still, no surface detail. I lowered the gamma as low as I could and adjusted the brightness. I even put the lens cap on with one of the sections removed to reduce the light coming into the telescope. Non of this gave me any surface detail.

I've heard that reducing the gain inside of SharpCap will help quite a bit but the program actually wont let me access it. In the settings list it is faded and there is no dial to move. For some reason it doesn't want me to use the gain on the webcam.

Can anyone help? Or maybe suggest another program that I can use for taking photos through my telescope with a webcam?
