No Images For a While - Dead Laptop

Yep , laptop died a few days ago.

I am replacing it with one with a bigger screen , faster processor etc. The firm I am using is kindly replacing the Windows Vista with Windows XP pro.

Only problem is reloading all the astro progs. Hopefully up and running again in a few days.

I feel your pain, John. My laptop's hard disc died toward the end of August, 2 days before my "dark site" holiday in the Cotswolds. We had beautiful skies but I could't do any imaging. . I have the laptop back from the repairers now, but with a new hard disc. I lost everything.

Decided not to bother with repairs as it was 5 years old. Just too slow with many astro progs. Hopefully the new one will speed things up a bit.

Sorry to hear that. At least they can replace Vista with XP as I hated Vista when I had it installed. So slow and horrible.

I think they will only be able to do this for a short while. Microsoft will stop computer firms releasing computers with XP pro soon.
