Skywatcher/Celestron laptop control

Hi.

I recently bought a pc cable with serial to USB adaptor for my Skywatcher SynScan goto from Astro Developments. This is to control the scope from Stellarium and it works fine. I would also like to have the same facility for my Celestron cpc 800. Will the same cable/adaptor work or do I need to by Celestron specific?

I think each cable is mount specific.
