Solar observation form recording

Hi, I've been using a solar observation form for white light that I've adapted a little (Pete Lawrence's) for a about a year now. I've kept the section for recording B0, L0, and P, the tilt of the suns equatorial plane, Longitude of suns central meridian and position angle of sun's north pole.

So, a couple of questions really:

Is there any need to record these values? (I have been so far using 'tilting sun')

And a bit of a confession, I'm not sure what these values really mean. Is there an easy way to understand them? I have tried googling them, but was left a bit baffled.
