Recommended Eye Pieces

Hi all,

I have a 70mm Skywatcher GoTo telescope which I have only owned a short while. It came with the standard 1.25 10mm and 25mm eyepieces and a seemingly poor 2x barlow lens.

I am considering upgrading the lenses and barlow. I mainly use the scope for viewing planets and DSO's. I have heard good things about the Tal barlow, but Ive also heard they are hard to get hold of.

I would love some advice on what size eyepieces to go for and what brand. I nearly made the mistake of going to scopes and skies and getting a 4 piece Bresser Optics set until I did some research and found posters saying they were not very good. I am a novice so simple advice would be most appreciated!

I don't know what your budget is but the Vixen NPL eyepieces are good quality and good value at £30 - £40 each:

Which scope model is it that you have ?.

It is a skywatcher az70

I've looked at the vixen and they seem good as does the x2 tal barlow.

What magnification would you recommend?

I would agree with the Vixen NPL range, i have a 25mm and 10mm and both give excellent views

I have the Vixen NPL 30mm and i love it, very crisp and clear veiws.
