If you want pictures of the moon, try a Xbox Live Cam, there's a thread in the DIY section shows how to Mod, i got mine of Amazon for around a fiver with the postage.....In skilled hands this would be a lot better.

Tinker, I've got an xbox cam, not used it yet as I got hold of a SPC900NC.

Good news is that I got much better results tonight, this was a single shot with the Nikon D90 tethered to the MacBook pro with Sofortbild. I got around the t-piece issue by using a M42 lens adapter with infinity corrector which worked pretty well.

ISO800 and 1/320th, single shot in RAW, processed in CS5 via Abode Camera Raw. Shot with a Nikon D90, tethered to a MacBook from with Sofortbild which gives you total control over the camera without touching it at all.

Lots of room for improvement but a lot better than I was getting!

Try mirror lock up, it stops the camera vibrating from the mirror slap
