Bit of advice needed :-)

Hi, Ive been looking at EP's lately with a view to upgrading the standard SW ones that came with my 150P, which I think would make a big difference to the quality of the image. Now after saying that Im on a very limited budget which doesnt help.

As I know with having a DSLR the quality of glass varies immensely and you do get what you pay for. Ive found these on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370595697917?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and looking at the feedback, nobody seems to say they are rubbish which going by the price, they should be as I can get one ED EP for around the same price as four of these. Has anyone bought any of these at all or can offer advice as to which is best value for planetary use. Ive found the standard SW ones tend to improve once the barlow is added to them but alone they aren't much cop really, very low contrast.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

The second one is the StarGuider or BST Explorer. Very good for visual.

No idea about the first, yes they say High Quality but not one is going to Poor Quality.

The third is a TMB Planetary clone, if you check the second site they may have them at £37.

I have the set of BST's and very, very happy with them.

Just found the forth link, it didn't come up underlined so I missed it. 3 and 4 will be the same, from the same place in China. 4 is from Alan at WGC - Sky's the Limit (the ebay web shop is Sky's Unlimited). Alan will be the person selling 2 as well.

If you are thinking of 2 or 4 then contact Alan (StL site contact No) and ask if you can try both and return the one you are least happy with.

Cheers for the really fast reply! I have read the BST's are really good although its nice to actually hear someone say it that owns them, but then 2 and 4 sort of threw me off kilter a bit, so thanks for your advice there. I'll ask if thats possible

I'd second that. BSTs or TMB planetarys are very good eyepieces that don't break the bank.
