First view of the moon

We found a five minute gap in the clouds yesterday and grabbed our scope while the moon was up.

It was still daylight, but we were desperate to use it having bought it two weeks ago, just in time for clouds and rain.

300 Dob, 10mm and 2x barlow = simply breathtaking !

It seemed quite odd to be using it in daylight, but we were stunned by the view.

Like kids in a sweetshop we tired looking at it with all combinations of lens and barlows. But after just about five minutes the clouds came rolling in. Cant wait till the next chance.

Now we just need to figure out how to connect our camera and take a few shots. Its an Olympus G11, so I figure I need a device that will mount it by the tripod thread to the scope and point the lens down the EP.
