Mount upgrade

Hi All!

I currently have a skywatcher 130 on an EQ-2 mount (my first scope). I've had this for a year now and at the weekend managed to break the Dec axis on the mount by over loading it with a camera and adapter. Rather than buy a whole new set up I was considering upgrading the mount to an EQ3-2 or EQ3pro. I like the idea of the GOTO mount but would I be better with the EQ3-2 and motor drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Another option could be an EQ5 with dual axis drives (£229 + £92).

Thanks Peter,

I hadn't really considered that one as I thought it might be a bit too much for the quality of my OTA but would be good shoul;d I upgrade the tube at a later date.

It is always better to go for a better mount than you think you need.

Yes I think your right Peter. Took your advice and went for the EQ-5. Warehouse express were doing an ex demo model with £75 off so thought why not!
