eye piece help

Recommended Posts

Any ep makes i should avoid and which ones are good to go for?

ha ha, now thats a whole new can o worms.

but if you stick with well known names and basic plossl design, then the names to look for are meade 4000, gso, vixen. new all cost under £40, the bst explorer is also popular for £41-47. the bst's give a slightly wider field of view.

theres an eyepiece section on the forum which has alot of hints and advice.

you might find "backyard astronomers guide" would be an ideal book if your new to the hobby, it covers all aspects of equipment . and "turn left at orion" is a nice book for showing you what to look for and where to find them with a small scope.

...anyway, about that book! I've recently got my 1st scope and also just received a copy of 'Turn Left at Orion'. I'd definitely recommend it - if you go for it make sure you get the 2011 spiral bound edition as this is the latest.
