Another busy day building the observatory. I hope Mr Murphy ,(my high school wood work teacher), is pleased to see that all those years of trying to educate me did not go to waste!

I assume the roof section is going to drop right back ? - if it stays at that angle when open you haven't gained anything over a Roll of roof design as per discussions in your other post

The roof will be staying at that that angle Malcolm for two reasons,

1. This angle produces less strain on the frame,

2. I have trees and buildings to either side of me so wont be observing any lower than this anyhow. Plus it'll help cut down a bit of light pollution.
