SW barlow fun!

Those with certain SW telescopes will have the supplied "deluxe" 2x Barlow. Not to be dismissed too lightly. However, have you noticed it comes in 3 screw-threaded parts?

The upper eyepiece holder, the central chrome tube, the actual lens part. The chrome tube is the same as the end of a normal 1.25in EP thread-wise.

Here's the fun part. Take the lens part and screw that into your favourite EP. You won't get the full 2x as the EP is closer to the lens part than when in the assembled barlow. Could be a handy way to check higher mag comparisons between EPs without the extra step of full barlow swap in/out.

My binoviewer has its own small screw-in barlow and its end is threaded so I put on the SW part also for some mag madness - about 300-400x. Depending on the EPs used it actually gave a fair image.
