Junior aurora Night events @ Kielder

Hi guys,

My daughter is 7 and mad keen on astronomy after doing "The Planets" as a topic at school. I'm doing my research before buying a 'scope - and I've some Bino's on the way while I work out just how expensive this is going to be - but before I do I wondered about taking her along to a "Junior aurora night" at Kielder. It's about a 2.5 hr drive for us. If she can't stay interested for that then maybe she's a bit young yet. Oh ... and I'm a total novice .. so it might be informative for me too!

So .... has anyone been to one of these with their kid(s)? Any thoughts? I notice that it's 17:00 to 18:45 ... will the sky really be dark enough at that point??

I not been to one but if your daughter is keen on astronomy why not you may like it as well.
