Latitude location and polar alignment.

Recommended Posts

Good morning.

I was just wondering how I find my latitude for my location?

Also I was thinking. When it comes to the polar alignment, what do you guys do if you want to look south?

At the moment I spend a lot of time in the south to south west area,so I have to turn the mount and lose my polar alignment?

Or am I missing something here?

Danny.

Yoiu certainly are missing something Danny.

Once yu have polar aligned there is no need to move the mount. If the mount is not moterised, then just loosen the clutches and swing the scope to where you want to look. then clamp up the clutches and use the alt/az knobs to keep the EP centered on the object you are looking at.
