Take it out. Remove cap. Place in a horizontal position and leave to cool. When you bring the scope back into the house and want the mirror to dry off..............again leave in a horizontal position but slightly pointing downwards.

There is much debate as to whether you should cap it or not when returning to the house. I'd be all for leaving the cap off while drying down.

Thats why you leave the scope in a horizontal position.................so if it does rain it (the mirror) will not get wet. Dont leave it out in the rain anyway.

I doubt that anything will get into the Dob and setup home while its cooling.

The cap has to come off to allow the outside air to get to the mirror and equalise the temp.
