Problems with technology...

Recommended Posts

Evening all.

Just planning to head out soon to catch my first view of Saturn. Very clear skies here so I should get my first glimpse later.

My question is about the two apps I have for mapping the sky. I've had 'Planets' on my iPhone for a while and it's been great. Tonight I added Stellarium which looks great and has some cracking features. However...bith of them seem to be about 35 or so degrees out. As an example, I pointed it at Venus and it showed Orion.

Am I doing something wrong with the settings, or something?

Help!

Cheers...

Also on some apps it can use the camera to calibrate it (stare all and sky safari use it so most likely the other do too) the camera shows the sky and you just align what it sees with the map ;)
