Modifiying a Webcam

Hi im currently in the process of trying to modifiy a webcam for astrophotography. I have two webcams i have been working on, a cheap VGA webcam and a HP HD-2200 webcam. I have mostly been working on the HD cam and im at the stage of now using it with my scope but i cant get a clear view, ive tried all the settings and i am using sharpcap.... can someone point me in the right direction.

What are you trying to image? Could you post up some examples?

I cant get any images, i know its a cmos chip but i have read of a successful modification with this webcam already but i cant see anything at all its just a blurry image.

At first with the HD webcam, when i put the webcam in it was like looking into the cam with the naked eye i could see the mirror and the inside of the scope, so I then removed the cover on the chip with no sucess of a clearer image. I have shortened the canister and tried it with a barlow too. I cant get a clear image
