dark(ish) skies thanet

this friday weather permitting me and a few others are going to spend the night stargazing,while ive been doing it for 6 months my friends have never even looked through a telescope so i would love there first time to be as good as possible for them and while ive seen some great sites from my back garden its very light polluted,so was wondering if anybody knows of any decent areas in or around the thanet area of kent that would give me darkish skies ive tried looking on dark sky maps but to no avail cheers john
