I've finally got hands on my celestron nexstar 130slt and put it together and cleaned my local shop of AA's. I've only had a play with the controls and now installed all the software on my mac. But i've also got a Nexstar Observer List cd for windows only. Can anyone tell me if i need this software and what it does. I really want to use it tonite if i can.

It might just be a manual ect, you can download a new one. Get a PSU, those batteries will drain your wallet..

you dont need to bother with extra stuff just now , get your scope outside , level the mount and do your alignment , best to try to pick a star you know before starting ,, ie betelguse in orion ,top left star
