astrophtography on a budget

I have just stumbled across a lens i was thinking about buying, to attach to my Canon 350D (if it will) so i can piggy back my telescope. Wonder if anbody out there has had experience of using it or can tell me if it will be any good (considering i don't have much money to spend)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The lens is:

I would check that the mount does in fact fit your 350D first - I would have my doubts, but I could be wrong

The mounts aren't compatible. There may be FD to EF adaptors available but they can cause problems with infinity focus. The lens itself is fairly mediocre.

FD have a shorter flange focal distance than EF mount, so you will need an optical adapter to reach infinity focus. Ignoring the quality of the lens, the optical adapter by itself is enough to mess up the image quality.

If you are on a budget, get a 50mm f1.8 and try some wide field imaging. It's more tolerant to tracking error, faster and you can use 2" astro filters if you get a 52-48 step down ring.
