Capturing the image with android....

I am investigating the possibility of getting hold of DSLR Controller android software DSLR Controller :: Home and connecting my ARCHOS 80 G9 to the Canon T2i (550D) rebel digital SLR, going to try astrophotography again but I don’t want to carry the laptop around with me due to its weight. (I got enought to carry with a EQ3-2 mount)

First off has anyone had any experience with this or anything similar....?

Second i have been told I have to have a OTG (On the Go) USB Host cable to make this work, as there is a £5 ish expense for one of these cables again does anyone have any experience with them, do they work or is there a cheaper alternative.... (I tried a small Female to Female USB block connector with the standard ARCHOS and Canon cables but it did not seem to work)

Any help or advice would be appreciated...
