1100d first light

Finally got outside with my new 1100d, and thought I'd have a quick go at M42 before it disappeard into the roof, so slightly out of focus as I was racing against time.

I'll have to say, imaging is a whole lot easier with a wide field of view (compared to my LX webcam).

13 x 60s lights iso 800

10 x 60s darks

No flats, building an EL panel.

Stacked in DSS, tweaked with Gimp.

Thats a pretty darn decent effort, you should be pleased. Nice star spikes and focus doesnt look too bad. The core is blown out but then that is always difficult to get and almost impossible without compositing a second image of lower exposure on. Still doesnt detract from a great start!
