Choosing a scope (or keep existing)

Recommended Posts

Currently I am using a several year old (possibly 10 years) 4.5" celestron that was given to me for christmas. I had mentioned on another forum that I was looking into the NexStar 127SLT and they said that there would not be much of a difference in the views between them and to save and get a scope with more aperature. Any advise? Thanks :icon_salut:

Hi Russ, I would also say that there would be very little difference between the scopes to be honest. You can get an 8" reflector for a reasonable price these days, so it may be worth waiting a while, as this sort of step up in aperture would make a very noticeable difference. :icon_salut:
