Good seeing tonight?

Just had a couple of hours out - scopes been in the shed all day so nice and cool -and dry. Wanted to try my new BST 12mm out. Stunning clear views of the moon with a little turbulence, Jupiter - low over rooftops very indistinct with some colour fringing. M42 fairly clear but couldn't get stars to pinpricks. Am I taking it for granted that seeing will be good just because its freezing out?

I've made this assumption too, but it's all about how calm the atmosphere is way 'up there'.i got the moon lovely and sharp with a little turbulence. Jupiter was never vwf

very sharp, but still viewed the cloud belts. I suppose perfect seeing conditions when you can push your scope to the limit are few and far between...

The snow supposedly forecast hasn't arrived yet but I hold little hope of seeing anything tonight, except in a book!!!
