jpeg or raw

Went out for my first night with the camera and tripod last night and took alot of shots and only when i come back inside did i notice i had taken them all in raw format . so i was wondering is it better to save my images in raw or jpeg or does it not matter .....

Most people use raw as it is completely unprocessed, just raw data for you to manipulate as you will.

Always RAW. JPEG is a compressed lossy format so you will lose finer tonal/colour gradients in the image.
