Another question please

Decided now to put the latitude and longitude in to the 497 autostar mine are 53.47.00 north and 01.45.00 west, when I try to put these in to the site of autostar it as only 5 figures for them along the lines of 133.00. do you put the figures in the same or is there something I am totally missing?

I think you need to enter them in decimal format. IE 54.30.00 would be 54.500 or something like that.

Probably not. The normal format for coordinates is degrees, minutes and seconds. Some system ignore the seconds part. Longitude becomes nnn nn and latitude becomes nn nn N/S. I think the Autostar system doesn't require the E/W because it requires the number of degrees west of the meridian even if you are 1 degree to the east ie 359 00. Your coordinates should be entered as 001 45W, 53 47N

It's a crazy habit, this decimalizing of minutes and seconds of time and of arc, but try it!

In reality the parallax shift of a minor error will not affect your mount very much.
