>25mm Eyepiece in a Skywatcher 127 MAK

Recommended Posts

The supplied 25mm eyepiece looks ok to me but I'm a beginner.

I know my MAK is not ideal for DSO but would like to give it the best chance.

So is there a practical cost effective improvement, either a much better 25mm EP with a wider fov or would getting a 30 to 40 mm EP be a better choice to improve the fov to the max my scope is capable of.

I have a budget of say £60 but its flexible.

In the 1.25" fitting, a 32mm plossl shows as much sky as a 40mm will - the barrel size limits the size of the field you see. A 32mm plossl will show you a true field of view (how much sky you can see) of 1.1 degrees which is about as much as you can get with a 127mm Skymax. The GSO plossls are good quality and well within your budget.
