Objects for tonight?

Hi all,

It's looking clear for tonight, so I'm able to go out. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of objects to look for (preferably Messier objects), other than the usual lot (M42, Andromeda Galaxy, Double Cluster, Pleiades, Jupiter etc).

Really, I want to extend my Messier count a little further, but I've seen all the objects listed in TLAO for this time of year.

So, any suggestions?

Dont miss M35 in Gemini.

In my opinion one of the best open clusters and a decent size one at that

if you're planning on staying up past midnight, how about giving M92 a try? Then you could hop over to Comet Garradd which is nearby.

Unfortunately won't be able to stay out past midnight. Observing session should be 8:00-9:30ish.

Any other ideas?

But have you really seen M35 ?

Embedded in the SW side of M35 is another, tighter, fainter cluster called NGC 2158.

I can see it clearly with my 120mm refractor so it should easily be within reach of your scope
