How to find the size of a CCD sensor?

Hi all,

I have a Logitech webcam (manufacturer number V-UAP41), and I'd like to find out the size of the sensitive area of the CCD. I have come up empty with Google searches, so was wondering if you could help me find this data?

Most webcams don't have such data available (which sensor is in them).

I was trying to calculate the FOV of view I should expect with this CCD plus my 10"f/4.7 scope, but maybe I just have to wait til it gets first light to measure it directly.

I can't help but would like to recruit you into my campaign to have CCD detectors specified by chip length and breadth and diagonal measurement in mm. How stupid is it that you have to calculate out from pixels size in microns just in order to have this obviously essential information?

Absolutely agreed Olly. I'm quite surprised that it isn't common information supplied with the camera.

I can't find *any* information on my camera. Not even the pixel size! Can you help with that?
