How do I align a computer-controled my C8N-GT?

OK, I resisted as long as humanly nerdly possible but have finally succumbed

I've built a cable to plug into the handset and downloaded the Ascom drivers. I don't think my Starry Night Digital Download 6 can control scopes so I'll give Stellarium a shot.

What I don't know is how I align the scope in this configuration. Do I use the regular handset alignment routine or some other process?

Yep, you align as normal. The telescope will feed back its position to the planetarium software when requested.

OK. Just done a test run on the 80GTL using Cartes du Ciel. Seems too easy

But I can see this getting expensive...

I've used SNDD a lot and like the interface. While I'll play with CdC for a while can anyone tell me if Starry Night Pro v6 is worth the £ compared to the older v5 or even v4.5?

And about observatories...
