EQ6 pro spanner nut question

Recommended Posts

hi

I bough a mount 2nd hand and to be honest I think he saw me coming. It has turned into a bit of a project. Well the polar scope was stripped threads, two of the AZ bolts stripped. Although the mount does seem to goto not too badly and there is little play in the axis.

Thanks to some great members here on SGL I hope to solve these issues.

With my heart in my mouth, Idecided to take of the work gear covers. They seem to be held in with a spanner nut.

My question is....Is there only one nut on one end of the gear, or one on each end under the covers? as there is only one fitted on one side on this mount, with the cover cap pressing on the bearing.

I was worried this might have been got at as well. Started to get a bit worried now.:)

One side looks like this:

with no nut

and the other like this, with a nut:

(I used some photos found on SGL to show the nut, hope photo owners are ok, if not I can remove)
