Kielder or Galloway?

I may be heading to either one of these places in the next few months with my Astrotrac setup for a bit of imaging, so can anyone who has been to both sites give me any clue as to which is better and why?

Interesting question and one I would be keen to find the answer to myself. I live in West Yorkshire and both are easily accessable, but Galloway is more motorway, whereas Kielder is more cross country from my location. Also B & B's etc. We have a tent, but it is totally out of the question to take that in the middle of winter.

Give me a warm cosy bed and hot shower any day.

I have not observed at either site but I have a holiday home on the Mull of Galloway - the drive is about 4 hours without a stop (from Wetherby). Kielder is much closer - a couple of hours would do it.
