first telescope

Hi all I'm thinking of buying (once I've got the cash) a telescope but I don't have 000's of pounds to spend i've got a Nikon D300 DSLR and I'm wondering what's a great telescope for looking in to deeper space than the moon! I found this one Celestron NexStar 8 SE Telescope - Telescopes at Telescopes but I'm new to this can i have your opinions and suggestions pleas.

The Nexstar SE is a good mount and the C8 is a good general purpose scope. As long as you only observe visually, you should be fine.

On the other hand, if you plan to use your DSLR for astrophotography, you should consider a ED80 on a HEQ5 instead. The Alt-Az SE mount is not suitable for long exposure.

might be ok for moon and planets ,but the mount is not up to long subs
