SW Mak 127 Focal Reducers

I have a 1.25" 0.6 x focal reducer that I use in my skymax 127 when viewing. I've not noticed much difference in using it though.

As the focal length of that scope is 1500mm when I attach the camera to the scope views of the moon and sun are bigger than I'd like them to be (it fills the view and more). I've seen some 2" focal reducers (ie Meade) at 0.6x and 0.3x but I think you need an adapter to convert to SCT.

Does anybody know how this works and if it is worthwhile using to try and get a shot of the whole moon?
