DMK 21AU618.AS Mono

After looking at the prices of the flea 3 and Skynyx :) I have plumped for a DMK 21AU618.AS Mono for christmas .

I would love to hear anyones experiences with the camera as well as any problems or issues that people have run into.

Also what Pc's/laptops are people running the DMK with, just want to be sure that my old desktop can keep up

Flea 3 is on much faster Firewire 800 (not that much needed for planetary) and any fast interface (Firewire 800, GigE, USB 3) seems to double the price of a USB 2.0 counterpart.

Skynyx were and are expensive - even so they now use "old" sensors of lower sensitivity.

DMK21AU618 is rather problem free and just works. Here is mine with friends

Hi Riklaunim, do you happen to know the specs off hand of the pc you run the dmk on?

Asus N53S with Core i5 and Nvidia/Intell graphics. No problems with the camera speed.

I'll have to root out the details of the desktop I'll be using, I think its specs are comparable to the N53S, although the processor of my desktop is a little slower.

USB DMKs are on the market since X years and they have been used with much weaker laptops In general - there shouldn't be any problems.
