Cable for my webcam

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to this so here goes.

I have a Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ and have just got a Phillips Webcam but the cable you get with the webcam isnt that long as I only have a PC at the moment and want to try a bit of imaging of the moon to start with.

My question is, If I get an extension cable is there a lengh limit before it requires some sort or boost for the signal.

I reckon I will need about 3 to 5 metres

Will need to invest in a Laptop at some stage.

3-5 metres of cable should be fine, you lose about 2% on a 5 metre USB cable.

So you wouldn't even notice it!
