Still having DSLR problems

This post was very helpful for me. I have the same setup as OP and was having trouble pinpointing the exact problem.

Quite the opposite; you will be able to get images of planets and the moon using a webcam, however taking images of DSOs with a webcam is far more difficult, although not impossible with a modified webcam. That sounds a good idea, the scope is new, so I wont be upgrading for a long while yet. Are there any places that sell that cam cheap?

One more question: when I connect my DSLR and turn it on, it asks me to input my focal length, it starts from 8 and goes to 800, what do I need to choose?
