buying a SLR camera......any advice

Hi

I am going to buy a DSLR camera for general home use and thought may as well kill two birds with one stone and get something that can use with my new scope. I have a 200p dob and appreciate i cant work wonders in terms of astro photography but just something that can be taking basic pictures of the moon and such and just wondered if anyone had any recomendations with a budget of £300-400?

For lunar and planetary, a webcam is a much better investment than a DSLR Especially on a Dob!

Or you could go the very simple A-focal route using something like this (assuming you have a digital camera already)

These can be bought on astroboot for a tenner.

i already have a digital camera so if cvan pick up something for 10 quid to get me started seems like a very good idea thanks

You will be quite restricted with the A-focal route but it will get you going with your first pics/vids of the moon:)
