Cosmicnaut913
I just got a new a vixen r130sf and noticed that there is a dust cap on the front of the scope and on the cap there are two smaller dust caps, one fixed and the other can be uncapped. Is this a collimation tool? Cant seem to find any info on it.
mallorcasaint
You can use the scope with the main cap on when viewing a bright object such as a full moon. Just remove the small cap on the front and it will let less light in but you will be able to view clearly.

brantuk
You can put the removable cap on the fixed one so you don't loose it. With proper Baader Solar film you can also cover the smaller aperture to make a white light solar scope. But never point your scope at the sun without proper solar film and/or filters. Damage to the eye (blindness) will be instant and permanent.
