the ones that look like bst explorers by shape. wondered if they are made by same manufacturer.

No direct info I'm afraid - but you are quite right they do look very similar, as do the TS ED ones?

Still, both are twice the price of Explorers .....

mmm, olivon from what i can work out are more around spotting scopes and terrestrial viewing, so wondered if they would suit astronomical viewing ?

Ah, that could explain why they have the magnification on each one as well as the size
