DBK21-618 and infrared filter for luminance ?

HI,

I have a SW-Mak-150 (F12) and a DBK21-618 camera and was wondering if it is feasible to use a IR-Pass filter for recording an infrared (685) image to use as a luminance for a colour image taken with the DBK. Or would it be too dark/the sensor not being sensitive enough, in combination with my 150mm Maksutov telescope and filter ?

Use red visual filter (it will pass red and IR) and then from the final stack extract only the red channel and process that

It may give good results, but there is no guarantee.
