NexStar 6SE mount adjustment possibility

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to tighten the action on my single arm NexStar mount?

The Altitude axis is so light that even when changing eyepieces it tends to move, I am completely unable to hang my DSLR off the back, it would just point it straight up (or at least till the camera contacted the mount)

Thanks

Paul

Yes, absolutely - I'm sure there is something about this on nexstarsite saying how to tighten this, but I can't seem to find the article right now. This one is close - it shows a strip down guide for the altitude axis. You don't need to strip it down completely though, just take the cover plate off and tighten the big nut (but not too much!)
