I thought I would give a link here to a thread that was started by Tom Watson, AKA "desertstars", a good friend and occasional observing companion over on the Cloudy Nights forums.

While pertaining directly to setting up for Halloween nights, the contents really pertain to any public set up for sharing the skies.

I hope this helps make for an enjoyable night with the public, wherever it might occur, for whatever reason.
